Each year the Club organises four Open road races, and as part of the TVCRA (Taunton Vale Cycle Racing Association) provides race training sessions at Merryfield Airfield.

The evening training sessions start at 7.00 every Tuesday, based at Merryfield, which is just outside of the village of Ilton, close to Ilminster. The racing can take different formats, either a mass start or handicap, covering eight to ten laps of the perimeter track (3 miles per lap).

There is a seperate group for novice riders - if they are not sufficiently experienced to cope with a large group. A small additional charge of £20.00 per year is made to cover the costs of hiring the facility. A pass is issued to all riders, this is needed to gain access to the airbase.

The Open Road Races require BC (British Cycling) membership and a racing license, these are purchased annually from BC or on the day from the Organiser.

During the winter, two weekly rides are organised over a 30 mile course.
